THREE fire crews were called out early this morning following reports of a fork lift truck fire at the former Unilever factory in Warrington.

Crews from Penketh, Warrington and Lymm arrived at the scene to deal with the incident.

The fire was put out quickly and was stopped from spreading to a warehouse.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Once the fire was out, crews removed the forklift from the building and used a high-pressure fan to clear the smoke.
The factory officially closed in October 2020 and the site has been on the market for re-development.
