A section of the A57 Sankey Way at Great Sankey, Warrington, is set to close overnight for carriageway resurfacing works linked to a new crossing installation.
Warrington Borough Council has announced plans to introduce a temporary prohibition of driving on the eastbound carriageway between the junction with Cromwell Avenue and Liverpool Road roundabout.
The closure is due to come into effect from Monday, November 2, for one week, between 7pm and 4am, when required and as indicated by signs on site.
However, the council anticipates the work itself will take around three nights to complete.
The works will involve planing and resurfacing the carriageway as part of a new crossing installation.
During the closure, access will be controlled by the relevant contractor.
A signed diversion route will direct motorists via A574 Cromwell Avenue, A49 Winwick Road, Lythgoes Lane, A57 Midland Way and Priestley Street.
The temporary order is being made under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and follow the signed diversion while the overnight works are underway.
