With new research showing over seven in 10 people (or 72%) are suffering from stress and/or anxiety, and 65% of those feel stressed and/or anxious at least a few times a week, the importance of taking time to focus on wellbeing is greater than ever.
Launching in June, wellbeing event ZenAM will offer the opportunity to enjoy a morning of yoga, relaxation, and meditation, as well as hearing from specialists in nutrition and life coaching. And all the while raising essential funds for Brainwave charity to support children with additional needs.
Keith Sinclair, CEO of Brainwave said: “Fundraising is crucial for us to deliver our specialist therapy services, enabling children with disabilities and additional needs to reach their full potential. We’re delighted to be the first charity to benefit from ZenAM, which will also raise greater awareness of Brainwave. Wellbeing is at the heart of all we do, for our people, the children we support and their families. This is a lovely way to give to others, whilst also improving your own resilience, with some all-important self-care.”
The day will begin with an hour of yoga, followed by a half hour crystal bowl sound bath and meditation. A talk on nutrition will follow, with a focus on how our needs change at different life stages. The morning will finish with some tips from a life coach on how to maintain a sense of wellbeing in your daily life, plus a chance to put questions to all of the experts on hand.
Starting at 9am and finishing at midday, the event will take place on Saturday June 22 at The Tipi, Higher Lane, Lymm, adjacent to the Jolly Thresher which is supporting the event.
ZenAM has been created by public relations agency Spice PR as part of its charity programme and will support a different charity each year, starting with Brainwave.
“It’s really important to us to promote charities and community causes, alongside the work we do with national and global brands,” explained Spice PR director Dee Gallagher. “Our research highlights just how prevalent stress and anxiety are currently, particularly for women, with 76% experiencing stress and/or anxiety compared to 66% of men. We’ve created ZenAM as an event for all which can be a source of fundraising, as well as being a really relaxing and enjoyable morning out, with an amazing line-up of wellbeing experts.”
Angela Dobric of Genius Yoga, which offers yoga classes for both adults and children in Altrincham, Hale, Knutsford, Northwich and Lymm added: “I’m delighted to be part of ZenAM. It’s so important amidst the hectic pace of our daily lives that we all take some time to find a place of calm where we can just breathe! We want to offer the chance for people to regroup and re-energise, while also raising funds for a fantastic charity.”
