UP to six weeks of evening road closures are set to start this evening (Monday) on London Road at Appleton for carriageway resurfacing.
The closures will be in place from 7 pm to 1 am on the A49 London Road from its junction with Quarry Lane to its junction with Longwood Road.
There will also be a Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Quarry Lane) (One-Way) Order 2009 in its entirety.
Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be as follows: –
Temporary Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: A49 London Road from its junction with Quarry Lane to its junction with Longwood Road.
Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Quarry Lane) (One-Way) Order 2009 in its entirety.
The Order will be effective from 22nd April 2024 for 6 weeks, between 7pm and 1am, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Lyon’s Lane, Broom Avenue, Longwood Road and vice versa. The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.

meanwhile north warrington roads are more foxholes than potholes
They literally did this exact same job a year ago and left a shed ton of tarmac heaped in the middle of the road and left. It’s also one of the best roads around, I drive on it almost every day and there are way worse conditions on other roads. Perhaps it’s a repair job for doing it rubbish first time around.
