THE popular Warrington attraction, the Land of Lights has organised a special weekend to collect much-needed toy donations to help a local cause.

Over the weekend of 20 and 21 January 2024, Land of Lights, a mile long festival of illuminations being held at Gulliver’s World, will offer visitors tickets at a discounted rate of £12 each in exchange for a toy-bank donation for The A-World UK.
The Salford-based not-for-profit organisation, which exists to support the autistic community across the north of England, has 24 community stores across the region that are currently crying out for donations of good quality toys.
So, organisers behind the Land of Lights event came up with hosting a special Toy Bank weekend in support.

Ross Partridge, Land of Lights festival manager, explains: “We already have a great relationship with The A-World UK and know at first hand the great things they do across the north of England to help Autistic children and their families. When the A-World team mentioned they were looking for donations that they could sell across their numerous community stores, we came up with our Toy Bank weekend so people can come to visit the Land of Lights attraction at a lower price if they bring a toy with them to donate.
“Lots of people will be having a clear out after Christmas and may now have unwanted toys that could go to a new home and be made the most of. We hope people will consider attending this weekend to come and see a wonderful spectacle of light and lanterns as well as helping a great local cause at the same time.”

Land of Lights, which runs until 25 February 2024, features a one-mile-long wonderland of illuminations including 12 vivid dreamworlds featuring gigantic lanterns inspired by animals, mega monuments and wonders of the natural world. Thousands of people from across the country have already explored the festival’s enchanting installations which includes more than 7,000 individual lanterns and hundreds of thousands LED lights.
