Developers plan to demolish former Jolly Falstaff pub

DEVELOPERS are seeking clarification on whether planning permission is required to demolish the former Jolly Falstaff pub at Poulton-with-Fearnhead.

The premises closed in March last year and has since become an area of anti-social behaviour.

Rodgers Leask Limited has applied to Warrington Borough Council for a determination as to whether the prior approval of the Local Planning Authority is required for the method of demolition and any proposed restoration of the site in Blackbrook Square, Poulton-with-fearnhead.

At the time of the closure, it was stated that the premises had been sold for development.
During the summer a clean-up operation took place at the premises to tackle anti-social behaviour.

A decision will be made on the demolition of the premises under delegated powers.
