Police warning following spate of motorbike and moped thefts

POLICE are warning residents in the Fairfield and Howley area of Warrington to be extra vigilant following numerous recent reports of motorbike and moped thefts.

Officers are asking people to ensure that their vehicles are secured and consider security devices like disc locks, alarms, heavy-duty locks, ground anchors, CCTV and trackers to help reduce the risk.

Anyone with information can contact the police via 101 or 999 in an emergency.

The police knocked on my door the other day to say there’s been a few motorbike robberies recently and they were checking that my bike is properly secured outside my house.
I explained that it has 2x large locks, both through Thatcham approved ground achors and they did seem too impressed when i told them that it’s alarmed and i own a shotgun. If I hear that alarm it’ll be easy to identify who tried to rob it as they’ll still be on the front with shins full of lead.
