Police secure closure orders on Orford Lane shops over alleged sale of illicit cigarettes

POLICE have secured two more closure orders on shops on Orford Lane, Warrington, in connection with the illicit supply of cigarettes.

The Northern problem-solving team with support from Warrington beat carried out warrants at two shops on Orford Lane yesterday, Tuesday and a large amount of property was seized and
closure notices served to both shop owners.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At around 2.30pm on Tuesday 16 November officers executed two warrants at address on Orford Lane in connection with the supply of illicit cigarettes.
“No arrests have been made at this time, but officers believe they have recovered a significant quantity of illicit cigarettes.

Last May Police also secured closure orders at premises in Orford Lane for selling illicit cigarettes.
