POLICE seized illegal cigarettes and cash from a car stopped near Orford Lane, Warrington, early yesterday morning.

It was the third seizure of this kind this week on Orford lane and follows on from recent three-month closure orders secured on three mini-marts in the area.

The vehicle was stopped by the Roads and Crime unit just off Orford lane.
The vehicle had a large quantity of illegal cigarettes and cash onboard and the occupants were arrested for money laundering.
Police have been tackling ongoing anti-social behavior issues on Orford Lane in recent months, which has resulted in closure orders on mini-marts selling illegal cigarettes.
