Two more COVID-19 related deaths although infection rates continue to fall

TWO more COVID-19 related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital over the weekend, although new infection rates continue to fall with 148 new cases confirmed.

The 148 (130) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 33,969 (33,821).



Infection rates in Warrington have fallen again for the fifth time in six days, to 1,216 (1,250) – 580.7 (597) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period but remain well above the national average of 486.9 (482) per 100,000, which continue to rise.
meanwhile, more than 79% of the UK’s over-12 population have now been double jabbed against COVID-19.
The latest figures show 45,561,445 people are now fully vaccinated against the virus after 18,082 got their second dose yesterday.
A total of 49,715,228 people have received one vaccine after 25,747 got their jab yesterday.
That means 86.4% of the over-12 population in the UK have had their first dose.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 512 (512) 244.l5 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 208.1
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 593 (593).
