Two more COVID-19 related deaths reported at Warrington Hospital as infection rates continue to rise

TWO more COVID-19 deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital over the weekend, while 128 new cases have been confirmed in the town as infection rates continue to rise.

The 128 (177) new cases reported by Public Health England, takes the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 31,492 (31,364).



Infection rates in Warrington for the last seven days have risen again to 965 (950) – 460.8 (453.7) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period and remain above the national average of 354.6 (348.3) per 100,000, which has also risen.
While two deaths have been reported at the hospital, inpatient numbers remain at 39 including six in ICU, while seven patients were also discharged over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the UK has recorded a further 40,224 cases and 28 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.
A further 22,106 people have received a first COVID-19 jab, and another 19,451 people have been given a second dose.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 508 (508) 242.6 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 205.4
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 590 (590).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Monday, October 11 2021 was 28 (38), taking the total number of deaths to 137,763 (137,755).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 40,224 (34,574), taking the total number to 8,193,769 (8,154,306).
Across the country, there are 6,728 (6,763) patients currently in hospital and 780 (808) on ventilation.
