WITH live entertainment now getting back into swing following lockdown there is an exciting month of entertainment at Warrington’s Pyramid & Parr Hall, featuring big names including Michael Parkinson and Tony Blackburn.

Not Lady Chatterley’s Lover Sunday, October 10, 7.30pm Pyramid
Eyebrow-raising comedy will meet high drama when a fresh twist on a classic DH Lawrence story comes to the Pyramid. Written by Lawrence Russell, the parody has been given the ‘Mel Brooks treatment’ by Happy Idiot Productions. Not Lady Chatterley’s Lover has been winning over audiences since Edinburgh Fringe 2017 – exploring the novel’s themes of female sexuality, disability and loneliness but with a lighter touch and plenty of added farce and innuendo.

An Evening with Sir Michael Parkinson Monday, October 18, 7.30pm Parr Hall
Share an evening with a TV icon who has interviewed more than 2,000 of the most prominent cultural figures of the 20th and 21st centuries. Sir Michael Parkinson will be in conversation with his son Mike and play highlight reels from the archive on the Parr Hall’s stage. As well as talking about the biggest moments in his career, Sir Michael will also share his life’s journey from a pit village in Yorkshire to the top of those famous Parkinson stairs

Beth Hart Wednesday, October 27, 7pm Parr Hall
Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Beth Hart has captivated America with her last three albums all topping the US Blues Chart. But the performer’s following in the UK is building almost as fast with 2019’s War In My Mind hitting the top 20. Beth’s music has helped her make sense of her life which has included a chaotic upbringing in LA, family traumas, confronting her demons and finding a sense of redemption through her husband Scott and her church.

Tony Blackburn: Sounds of the 60s Thursday, October 28, 7.30pm Parr Hall
It would be very difficult to separate Tony Blackburn from the 1960s. As one of the infamous broadcasters on pirate radio station, Caroline and the first voice on BBC Radio 1, it was the era that made him and defined him. Now the 78-year-old is bringing BBC Radio 2’s Sounds of the 60s Live to Warrington so people can revisit the classic songs he is synonymous with. Tony will be joined by a full band plus singers as part of a tour that has been extended due to popular demand.

One Night in Dublin Friday, October 29, 7.30pm Parr Hall
Join the award-winning Wild Murphys for a celebration of the music of Ireland. From The Pogues and The Dubliners to Flogging Molly and The Dropkick Murphys and from Van Morrison and The Fureys to Daniel O’Donnell and Nathan Carter, One Night in Dublin offers a diverse night of singalong entertainment. The band aim to recreate the feeling of being in a music pub in the Emerald Isle.

Any Suggestions Doctor? Saturday, October 30, 7pm Pyramid
The Doctor will see you now. Meet Any Suggestions Improv, a team of performers who create new ‘episodes’ of Doctor Who based entirely on things shouted out by the audience with the help of music and sound effects created in their ‘radiophonic workshop’. Every show is unique and after a successful run at Edinburgh Fringe, the improvised parody is hitting the road. TARDIS parking fees not included in ticket price.

Crissy Rock Friday, November 5, 8pm Pyramid
She is best known for playing Janey in Benidorm. But now the multi award-winning actor, comedian, author and ‘Loose Woman’ is going back to her roots with a stand-up show at Pyramid’s intimate Studio Theatre. Useless partners beware because the men in the 63-year-old’s life will be in the firing line as she talks about her journey through the onset on middle age You may have seen Crissy on the likes of I’m A Celebrity, Celebrity Masterchef and Lorraine but it is on intimate stages where she started her career that she shines the brightest.
