Warrington Labour launch 2021 Manifesto: Let’s Keep Going

WARRINGTON Labour has launched their 2021 Manifesto: Let’s Keep Going, setting out their achievements, pledges for action, and Contract with Warrington for the next three years.

This is Warrington’s Labour’s manifesto for the local elections in May.

It sets out our achievements since we took on the leadership of the Borough a decade ago, and our pledges for action over the next few years. It shows how our values – Labour values – can be translated into practical action. Most of all, our manifesto reflects what you, the people of Warrington, have told us you want.

People tell us they want local jobs, apprenticeships, and opportunities for our young people. People tell us they want decent, affordable homes and safe, clean streets. They tell us they want support for their vulnerable friends, family and neighbours, especially elderly people and those with disabilities. People say they want to live healthier lives, with more parks and green spaces to walk, run and cycle through. They want a vibrant town centre where everyone can feel welcome and secure, with great shops and things to do.

Warrington residents want a connected town, with clean, green buses. They want a town that is great to grow up in, and great to grow old in, with a real spirit of community. They want a town that is growing and thriving, where no one is left behind. Your vision is our vision. Your values are our values.
Warrington Labour is the voice of local people because we are local people. We deliver the services and support the institutions which make for a strong community and a great place to live.

Throughout the pandemic, Warrington’s Labour Council continues to support local businesses, bolster the NHS and protect our communities. Our plans for the post-Covid recovery are in place. We will reboot the local economy, get people back to work and strengthen our resilience to future pandemics.

This is why these elections matter, to you, your family and your neighbourhood.
Warrington can’t afford to veer off course in a reckless change of direction with the Tories or ‘so-called’ Independents. Now is no time for a leap in the dark.
Warrington is on the right track – let’s keep going. I hope you will vote for the Warrington Labour team, we have candidates in every ward working hard for you. On Thursday 6th May, vote Labour.

Thank you for everything you do to make Warrington a great place to live.
Russ Bowden,
Leader of Warrington Labour Group
