Life is no picnic for police officers!

POLICE at Appleton were kept busy earlier today moving a “heavy” picnic bench from the Dingle back to its original location on Millennium Green after reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Extra patrols will now be put in place in the area following ongoing issues with youths and anti-social behaviour including theft of fencing panels from gardens and the lighting of bonfires and playing of loud music in the Dingle.
There have also been ongoing issues with youths causing anti-social behaviour near the shops on Bridge Lane.
During November alone police reported 13 Incidents of anti-social behaviour on the Cobbs Estate, five incidents of fence panels being taken on Clydesdale Road to fuel a bonfire, four incidents of garden furniture being taken from properties on Dale Lane and two incidents of criminal damage on Dingle Way and Farm Lane
Officers are appealing to youngsters to respect their public spaces and to be kind to others.
