Fire crews help rescue man trapped in mud

FIREFIGHTERS including a specialist rope rescue unit were called out to help rescue a man trapped up to his knees in mud on Paddington Meadows, Warrington, last night.

One fire engine attended from Birchwood along with a Rope Rescue unit from Lymm at around 7.45pm last night following reports of a man stuck up to his knees in mud on Larkfield Avenue, Bruche.
On arrival at the scene crews found the man was stuck up to his knees and unable to get out.
The rope rescue unit from Lymm were called to the scene and the crews used specialist equipment to release the man, who was then handed to the care of paramedics.
The crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.
