LOCAL residents once again took to the streets of Warrington for the “Clap For Our Carers” campaign to thank the NHS workers who are working round the clock battling the coronavirus crisis.
On the same day Warrington saw its biggest increase in confirmed cases, jumping from 40-65 in the space of 24 hours, residents in all parts of the town applauded the NHS workers clapping from windows, doorsteps and balconies for one minute at 8pm to show their support and appreciation.
The message to “clap for our carers” started last Thursday and again had been circulating widely on social media with hundreds of thousands of people across the UK taking part.
The town’s two MPs both joined in showing their appreciation.
