Teenager arrested on suspicion of arson after house fire

A 16-year-old boy was arrested at Warrington early today on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
The youngster was arrested after fire was discovered in a bedroom at a property in Libson Close, Cinnamon Brow shortly before 2am.
Fire engines from Warrington, Birchwood and Lymm were called to the scene after reports of a fire on the first floor.
Two firefighters entered the property and extinguished the b laze with a hose reel jet. A large fan was then used to clear smoke from the property. In all, fire crews were at the scene for more than an hour.
The fire is being treated as suspicious and police arrested the teenage boy.
In an earlier, unconnected incident, fire crews from Warrington and Stockton Heath went to Grammar School Road, Latchford to deal with a kitchen fire.
Two firefighters extinguished the blaze, involving food left on a cooker, using a hose reel jet.
Adjoining flats were checked to ensure the fire had not spread.
