Community groups to receive £230,000 lottery funding

FIVE community organisations across Warrington are celebrating after being awarded a total of more than £230,000 in National Lottery funding.
The money raised by National Lottery players is being distributed by the National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.
Largest amount is £195,000 for Home Start Warrington for a project aiming to support vulnerable families with children experiencing difficulty within the family unit, enabling the organisation to continue to provide support to families through counselling sessions, a creative ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) course, mentoring programme and a variety of other creative activities.
Culcheth Primary School receives £10,000 to develop an outdoor area on the school site by laying artificial grass and installing goals to create a new activity space where children can play games and be active.
Bruche Primary school receives £9,999 for play facilities adjacent to the nursery for children up to school age with the aim of giving more people access to equipment to stimulate children’s early development.
Warrington Youth Club has been awarded £9,937 for a new programme of low-cost gym use which will encourage young people to bring their parents with them to the gym, aiming to build the confidence of young participants and also support local families becoming closer and more active.
Appleton Thorn Primary School receives £9,935 which will be used to develop an outdoor children’s play area on the school site, aiming to improve play facilities for the village community.
