Did Tiger Woods win best dressed at the masters?

0

Tiger Woods has dominated the sporting headlines recently but as well as pulling off the most astonishing comeback in golfing history, did he also pull off the best outfits? Golfing wear has significantly transformed in recent years, with pros securing big money contracts with sponsors to advertise their latest, stylish clothing. Let’s take a look at who was wearing the best gear at Augusta:

Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods has a lucrative deal with Nike and he generally likes to keep it simple with his choice of outfits. However, this year he opted for the mock turtleneck shirt design that he also wore in historical successes and it proved to be a winner. On the final day, we chose a red shirt and black trousers combo, which perfectly complemented the famous Green Jacket as he held the Masters trophy aloft.

Henrik Stenson

Hugo Boss polos are Stenson’s shirt of choice and he has been known to wear some less attractive patterns, depending on your personal fashion sense. He seemed to have left his more garish ones behind for the Masters this year and looked well-dressed throughout the tournament.

Ian Poulter

Another player that varies his outfits a lot is Ian Poulter. He loves his checked and tartan patterned trousers but they don’t impress everyone. Poulter, of course, used to design and sell his own clothing but decided to concentrate fully on his golf a few years back.

Rory McIlroy

He had a tournament to forget by his standards but at least he looked the part. We didn’t see the usual vibrant colours that he has been known to dazzle us with, as he played it down with a classic striped Nike shirt combined with white pants and finished with his snake patterned Air Zoom Victory Tour shoes.

Rickie Fowler

There is never any real surprise when Rickie Fowler turns up at the first tee wearing an eye-catching outfit. When he started off his tournament in an on-trend camo print shirt, his fans were hoping it wasn’t a sign that he was going to go into hiding. He certainly didn’t do that in the opening round, so his camo look might get another outing at some point. Of course, he wore his custom puma golf shoes to accompany his stylish outfit.

We really have to give a shout out to Brooks Koepka’s hat when we’re talking about who wore what at the Masters. The best word to describe it is ‘busy’, with his blue hat covered in a floral print that was getting everyone talking. His recent weight loss perhaps drew more attention to his outfit than usual.

You have to credit these guys, as well as being outstanding golfers they all know how to style it up on the golf course. Whilst comfort is a big priority to get the best performance, some of these players really like to turn heads with their choice of colours and patterns. We probably have to give Tiger the award for best dressed this year, as he oozed style and presence throughout the tournament.
