Peace of Mind fancy dress sponsored walk in memory of Julie

1

KIND-HEARTED Stockton Heath walkers dressed up in fancy dress to raise money and awareness for Mind, the mental health charity, in memory of local woman Julie Allen-McKenna.

Friends and family of Julie Allen-McKenna gathered at the London Bridge pub to start their charity walk through their local village centre to help raise money in her memory.

Dressed in a variety of guises, from a bishop to a bearded air hostess, the group hope to pass the £2000 mark in donations to the mental health charity Mind.

Originally a target of £1000 was set but this was passed on the just giving site which currently stands at over £1500 and with the addition of kind donations collected from the people of Stockton Heath, the organisers hope to pass their new target.

Mind is a mental health charity which provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Every year, one in four people will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.

Mind believe no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. they promise to listen, give support and advice, and fight your corner.
