NETWORK Warrington is marking the launch of the new Cheshire Cat bus fleet by hosting a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party – and everyone’s invited!
The celebration event, to launch the introduction of the new bus fleet which will service the new south Warrington network, is taking place on Saturday April 21 between 10am and 4pm at the Old Market Place, Golden Square.
There will be actors in Alice in Wonderland costume, face painting, cakes and refreshments – a winning tea party recipe, fit for the whole family.
There will also be a brand new Cheshire Cat bus on display for people to take a look at the new fleet and members of the Network Warrington team will be on hand to answer any questions about the new Cheshire Cat service.
Ben Wakerley, managing director at Network Warrington, said: “We’re delighted that after months of preparation and engagement with our passengers, we’re finally able to unveil the new bus fleet – the final piece in the puzzle of the Cheshire Cat.
“I’ve heard great feedback so far about the high frequency south Warrington and Bank Quay routes, and the new fleet will only serve to strengthen our transformed public transport offer.
“So, if you fancy a day out with the family, want to leave the car in the garage more often or want to commute in comfort – I’d love for as many passengers as possible to give the Cheshire Cat a go, and get behind Warrington’s own bus company.”
The new Cheshire Cat service was introduced on Sunday and provides a frequent link, up to every 10 minutes, for passengers travelling to Stockton Heath, Warrington Bank Quay station and the interchange.
The new 13-strong bus fleet will include the latest public transport essentials including Wi-Fi, extra leg room, comfy seats and USB charging points. The new buses are also industry-approved as environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient.
