WARRINGTON people who love their parks are being urged to show it next week.
The borough council is encouraging residents to join in “Love Parks Week.”
Clr Tony Higgins, lead member for parks and leisure, said said Love Park Week, now in its 11th year, was Britain’s biggest celebration of parks and the council was encouraging everyone to share why they loved Warrington’s parks.
He said: “I’m passionate about our parks and open spaces and believe we have some of the best in the country. There are so many activities that are available in our parks and I would encourage everyone to use them.
“Whether you want to relax, walk the dog, exercise or take the children to a playground there is so much to do – so get out and enjoy our wonderful parks.
“This #LoveParks Week, we are encouraging as many people as possible to go out and enjoy their local park. Take a photo, video or simply post on social media, using the hashtag #LoveParks, telling the world why you love your park.”
