Cricket club seeks new players

A NUMBER of key players have left Glazebury Cricket Club – leaving the Cheshire League club seeking new members.
The club has started its season with mixed fortunes, the 1st XI having to cancel its opening match because the pitch was not ready and losing its second game but the 2nd XI winning both its opening games.
But the shortage of players could mean the club struggles to field two sides every week and an influx of new players, including juniors,  of all abilities, would be welcome.
Anyone interested should call 01925 766482 or visit the club website www.glazebury.play-cricket.com
The club in its present form started in 1962, but it dates back to 1896 when it was founded as All Saints Glazebury Cricket Club and it had links with an earlier club, Bury Lane Cricket Club, which was existing in the 1860s. Bury Lane was the former name for Glazebury village.
