COUNCILLORS have successfully campaigned for improved signage to tackle HGVs passing through Lymm Village.

LYMM Councillors Sheila Woodyatt and Kath Buckley have successfully campaigned for improved signs on Rushgreen Road in the village.

Problems are being caused by the amount of HGVs on Rushgreen Road. They are also campaigning for improved signage at nearby Trafford

The councillors are also pushing to have St. Mary’s Church Hall car park extended as people are parking on the narrow Crouchley Lane, which causes major issues and disruption for local residents.

The Council own the strip of land between the existing car park and the field and it is hoped that this can be used to give more parking spaces for people using the Church, the Hall and for walkers to access the nearby pathways.

Councillor Woodyatt said: “Sometimes the cars are parked all the way down Crouchley Lane and it is a nuisance for the residents.

A lot of people park for the Rugby Club but they have plans to build a new 100 space car park of their own which should help alleviate the problem but there is still a need for a larger car park at the Church Hall”.

Cllr Woodyatt added that since the new tarmac had been laid at Lymm Bridge it was a significant improvement.
