Each year every household in the UK is sent the form by their local council to check the right people are registered to vote.

It is a legal requirement to respond even if it shows the correct information. You will be sent reminders to complete the form by 14th November and if you ignore these you could be fined.

Steven Broomhead, chief executive at Warrington Borough Council, said: “The aim of the household enquiry is to ensure that the electoral register is up to date and to identify any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

“There are currently 18,000 households in Warrington who are yet to respond.

“It’s particularly important that anyone who has moved house recently completes the form and checks whether they are registered with the correct information.”
