THE Warrington Campus of the University of Chester is holding an open evening and free public lecture to explore the impact of Warrington Wolves on the town.

On Tuesday June 14, between 4pm and 6.30pm, visitors, prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students will be able to tour the campus, to gain an academic overview from departments and faculties, and view accommodation and other facilities.

On the same evening, starting at 6.30pm, a free public lecture will explore the social and community impact of Warrington Wolves.

Mark Hoddell, Marketing and Recruitment Co-ordinator at the University of Chester, said: “Warrington is a university town with a Campus that specialises in delivering innovative and employment-focused courses in business, education, media, nursing, policing, social work and sport.

“This Open Evening is a useful starting point for prospective students to research their options. They will be able to have one-to-one chats with academic staff and take the opportunity to explore the academic facilities and student accommodation.

“With countless opportunities for you to mould and shape your education to suit your career goals, the Warrington Campus of the University of Chester gives you the freedom and support to develop yourself into a distinctive and highly employable graduate.”

At the open evening, informal drop-in sessions mean that a visitor can turn up at any time during the event, and will be able to get involved with a range of activities, including taster sessions, the opportunity to speak to an academic member of staff, and current students, and visit the advice and guidance desks (which will include information about accommodation, careers, finance, and Student Support and Guidance).

Following on from the open evening will be the Wolves lecture: The Social and Community Impact of Warrington Wolves.

Hosted by the University’s Department of Sport and Community Engagement, Roger Draper, Chief Executive of Warrington Wolves; Professor Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive of Warrington Borough Council and Chairman of Wolves; Neil Kelly, Director of the Warrington Wolves Foundation and Tony Smith, Head of Coaching and Rugby will be discussing the benefits that the Club brings to the town and surrounding areas.

Early booking is recommended for the Wolves lecture, which takes place in Lance Dobson Hall, Warrington Campus at the University of Chester, Crab Lane, Warrington WA2 0DB. Admission is free.
