THE Key Stage 4 Boys’ badminton team at Warrington’s Sir Thomas Boteler High School have qualified for the county rounds of the National Schools’ competition which will be played in the New Year.
Made up of Tom Berry, Karlton Bates, Conor Haybyrne and Lee Muckley, the team were runners-up to Bridgewater High in the Warrington round and will progress as one of the top two teams.
The competition sees players involved in a range of doubles and singles games, which are all self-officiated. This involves a high level of understanding in relation to the complex laws of badminton and a requirement that all players involved display high levels of sportsmanship and etiquette.
