REPRESENTATIVES of local churches, the Town Council, the Royal British Legion and the public attended the re-dedication of the newly-restored Trinity Memorial at Frodsham Methodist Church.

A welcome address was given by Frodsham Mayor Cllr Fran Sutton, an introduction, prayer and dedication of the memorial were given by the Rev Denise Harding and the Royal British Legion Standard was presented by Len Rugen and Geoff Abnett, chairman and secretary of Frodsham Royal British Legion.

The names of the fallen were read by Royal British Legion president Brian Lloyd and a wreath was laid by the Rev Neil Stacey and 15 crosses – one for each of the fallen – were laid by Father Michael Mills, councillors, members of the council’s World War 1 Working Group and by Junior Mayors Josh Chow and Lily Brook.

Mr Rugen read the Exhortation and the Last Post and Reveille were played. The service ended with a pray, the hymn “O Valiant Hearts” and a blessing.

Afterwards, Pammi Taylor, a member of the World War 1 Working Group, said: “The re-dedication ceremony was a very moving affair.  The group has been working on this project for some time now and it is satisfying to see its completion.

“We thank the Rev Harding and her church for their support and we look forward to working together in the future.”
