Major roadworks warning!

HIGHWAY chiefs are warning of possible traffic delays and disruption caused by major road works which are due to start in the Latchford area of Warrington next Monday (August 5).
Motorists, residents and businesses are advised that the major roadworks to resurface Wash Lane, Station Road and Loushers Lane could cause disruption for about four weeks.
Daily road closures between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, will be used to allow for the resurfacing of the roads.
The resurfacing works will start on Station Road followed by Wash Lane, and then Loushers Lane.
The works on Loushers Lane will include the construction of traffic and pedestrian islands, and the existing footway along its southern side will be reconstructed.
Diversion routes will be signed when the closures are in place.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the works. Vehicle access will be under the control of the contractor as directed on site.
Cones, barriers and signs are there for a reason – to protect our workers from danger and to keep the public safe. We urge drivers to pay close attention to safety when driving near roadworks.
The council apologises for any inconvenience caused while we carry out this important work.
