Runners line-up for half marathon

AT least eight runners from Warrington will be taking part in the Chester Half Marathon, on Sunday May 12.
The run, renowned for its fast course and historic setting, is one of the most popular city centre road events in the UK.
Most of the runners have a story to tell – about fundraising for a good cause, an inspiring personal challenge or a story that tugs at the heart strings.
General entries have now completely sold out, however limited places are still available through the race charity Northern Lights. To find out more, go to www.chesterhalfmarathon.co.uk
Warrington runners taking part include:
Ben Hanson: running to raise money for MacMillan’s and the Pancreatic Trust following the loss of his dad to pancreatic cancer last year.
John Ewing: Has already raised more than £13,000 for charities and is taking part in three Half Marathons, Three Triathlons, Three 10k’s and three mountain challenges this year.
James Dow: Has competed in every Chester Half Marathon since 2000.
Dave Yates: Has done 10 Chester Half Marathons and 49 in total.
Dev Devaney: After 35 years service will leave the Army two days after the run.
Karen Kelly: Running to raise money for the Brainwave Charity which helps to provide care for disabled children and support for their families.
Robin Rowe: Runn ingin memory of Chris Bygate and hoping to raise money for Patterdale Mountain Rescue.
Christopher McLoughlin: Starting on a journey from overweight to marathon runner after a New Year resolution.
