WARRINGTON’S ‘Flying Policeman’ Kevin Sweeney completed his first racing event of the season as he competed at Oulton Park in the HOTTRAX Bike meeting on Saturday (April 20) as he managed to avoid a major accident.
Although a little rusty he managed a very creditable placing in his three races riding a Suzuki GSXR1000, improving with each race, finishing,11th, 6th and finally 5th.
Kevin who lives in Birchwood, Warrington is stationed at Police HQ at Winsford where works in the CIS department.
He said: “It’s been hard trying to get sponsorship and unlike the lads with big sponsors I have to use used tyres. This gives them a big advantage.
All three races had 30 riders taking part, although some did quite make it as Adam Redding riding a Suzuki GSXR1000 (pictured top) found out during one of Kevin’s races!
Thankfully Adam escaped with minor bumps and brusis although he bike was not so lucky!
Thankfully Kevin (pictured right and below) managed to avoid the carnage.
Flying start for Kevin at Oulton Park!
