Man, 64, attacked and robbed

A 64-year-old man was attacked and robbed by two men as he walked along the street in Warrington.
Police today appealed for information about the incident, which occurred at the junction of St Peters Way and Chorley Street at about 8.30pm on January 7, but was not reported until January 20.
The victim was approached from behind, struck on the head and knocked to the ground.
One of the two attackers then search his pockets, stealing cash and his mobile phone.
The pair then fled in the direction of Battersby Lane.
DC Simon Fisher of Warrington CID said: “The victim suffered a minor head injury as a result of the incident but did not require hospital treatment.
“We are following a number of lines of enquiry and would appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed the incident to come forward.”
One attacker was about 5ft 7 inches tall, in his early 20s and of stocky build.
He had short dark hair, a closely shaved beard and was wearing a light grey waterproof jacket and dark coloured jeans.
The second man was taller.
