Apprentices to join council

A GROUP of 22 apprentices, who will take up posts with the borough council, attended a special reception at Warrington Town Hall.
The group were welcomed by councillors, senior managers and officers.
A total of 26 new apprentices have been appointed. Of these 23 live in Warrington and 16 were not in education, employment or training at the time of application.
They will take up roles in a variety of council services including business administration, childcare, catering and vehicle maintenance. All will work towards nationally recognised qualifications and gain on the job experience.
Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader of the council, said: “We have made a public commitment to creating more job opportunities for young people in Warrington and this is one of the ways we are delivering on that. I am thrilled to have been part of today’s event.”
