Have your say on fortnightly bins

1

RESIDENTS concerned about plans to introduce fortnightly refuse bin collections in Warrington can put their views to the borough council before February 1.
The council’s executive board has made the decision to reduce the frequency of collections in a bid to encourage recycling and save the council £1million a year.
But people with concerns are being invited to complete the “Make the Move” questionnaire. Feedback will be used to help the council plan the changes and help people to reduce and recycle waste.
Cllr David Keane, executive member for environment and public protection, said: “We’re making the move so we can make the recycling rate even better in the town and there’s no doubt it will have positive benefits on the environment. But we understand residents will have concerns going forward.
“We want to urge people to share their views with us and complete the questionnaire so we can get an understanding of how we can support you through the changes.”
The questionnaire can be completed online via the council’s website by CLICKING HERE
Hard copies are available in local libraries and the council’s contact centres.
