A STRIKE which threatened the Christmas and would have led to picket

lines outside the Warrington mail centre has been called off at the last

minute
A much improved pay offer resulted in the 24-hour stoppage – due to take place tomorrow (Friday) being called off, according to the Communications Workers Union.
The dispute involved engineers and cleaners employ by Romec – a joint venture between Royal Mail and construction giant Balfour Beatty.
A secret ballot of 1,900 Romec workers produced a 91 per cent vote for strike action.
But when an improved offer was made today, the strike was called off.

  1. That will really please the public. What a bunch of numpties on both sides. Nobody wins.

certainly speed up on-line shopping bringing about the demise of the Royal mail and you can’t blame the people.

Perhaps they chose tomorrow so that they could get their xmas shopping done and attend a few parties.
