A MAN was taken to hospital at Warrington with serious chest injuries after being involved in a collision with a car which did not stop.
The 42-year-old remains in Warrington Hospital and police have appealed for information from the public to help them trace the driver involved.
The collision occurred in Fisher Avenue, near its junction with Long Lane, on Monday evening (December 17).
Police believe the car involved was a Ford Focus or Vauxhall Astra.
Sergeant Neil Farnworth said: “We are appealing for the driver to come forward as they may not realise that they had hit the pedestrian. We are currently exploring the circumstances of the incident but it is believed the car may have clipped the man so the driver may not have realised what has actually happened.
“We are appealing for the driver to make contact with us so we can bring things to a conclusion. We are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or was in the area at the time and may have seen something significant to come forward.”
Anyone with any information is urged to cal Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
