A SPECIAL drop-in session is being held to give residents the chance to share their views on proposed improvements to walking and cycling links in the Birchwood area.
Warrington Council recently secured £4.65 million of funding from the government’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) to improve bus and cycle access across north Warrington. The bid included plans to improve links in Birchwood, specifically linking Birchwood Rail Station to employment areas.
The council would like members of the public to come along to a drop-in session so they can discuss the plans.
The session will take place on Wednesday, November 21 between 2pm and 8pm at Birchwood Youth Centre, Delenty Drive, Birchwood.
Cllr Linda Dirir, (pictured) executive board member for highways, transportation and climate change, said: “Improving these walking and cycling links is an important part of the sustainable transport fund strategy as it would help to relieve traffic congestion, encourage people to travel more sustainably and improve conditions for cyclists and pedestrians. I would urge people to make their views known by coming to the drop-in session at Birchwood Youth Centre or responding to the council using the contact details provided.”
