Pop up adoption agency

A CHESHIRE charity is to bring its “pop up” adoption agency to Warrington as part of a campaign to recruit more adopters.
Adoption Matters Northwest (AMNW), which services the whole of Cheshire, will be in Warrington’s Golden Square shopping centre on Thursday, November 8.
There will be a free information event in the centre’s Community Square unit between 10am and 4pm.
Social workers will be on hand to provide an insight into the adoption process from start to finish.
AMNW chief executive Norman Goodwin said: “There are around 7,000 children in care across the UK who want nothing more than to be part of a loving family. The sad fact is that, despite the hard work of voluntary agencies and local authorities, there simply aren’t enough adopters coming forward.”
It is hoped the event will help dispel the myths surrounding adoption.
Mr Goodwin added: “People often have misconceptions about adoption, so we’re here to set the record straight and hopefully encourage more people to take that first step towards a new life as an adoptive parent.”
