Picnic protest over school bus cuts

ANGRY parents campaigning against Warrington Borough Council’s proposed cutback on free school buses are to promote a “picnic in the park.”
The event will take place outside the Town Hall at the same time the borough council’s executing board meets to consider the issue on October 15.
Spokesman for the Say No Campaign, Ken Edwards, said: “We are hoping for a full house at the executive board meeting and lots of families at the Picnic in the Park.
The parents are angry because they say the council is trying to rush through the cuts with proper consultation.
Parents attending the picnic are being asked to take their families, a snack, a brolly and a torch.

  1. If you think our Councillors are going to change their minds then think again! The decision is already made by the autocratic WBC and no consideration will be made for any comments made by residents. So much for democracy! This is how our elected members treat us.
