A SERIES of “Movie Nights” which helped reduce anti-social behaviour in Culcheth last winter are to be repeated this winter.
PCSO Steve Dodd, who thought of the idea last year, has secured funding for the shows from Culcheth Educational Trust and a local supermarket will supply the films, pop and crisps free.
The Movie Nights will take place at in the theatre-style school hall at Culcheth High School.
A local bus service operates outside the premises and the specially selected films are open to youngsters aged 12 to 16.
PCSO Dodd said: “The Movie Nights attracted 50-60 young people when we ran them earlier this year and on those evenings anti-social behaviour was reduced in the village.”
Selected films have been listed on the school website and youngsters can vote for their favourites.
Movie Nights will be held on October 5, November 16, December 7, January 18, February 2, March 1 and March 23 from 7.30 to 9pm.
