THE Court of Appeal has received an appeal application from Farzana Ahmed – the Warrington woman jailed for life for murdering her daughter, Shafilea.
The Crown Prosecution Service says the woman is seeking permission to appeal against conviction.
Farzana Ahmed and her taxi driver husband Iftikhar were convicted of murdering their daughter in July after a lengthy trial.
The 17-year-old (pictured) disappeared from her home in Liverpool Road, Warrington in 2003 and her body was found on the banks of the River Kent in Cumbria six months later.
The grounds for Mrs Ahmed’s appeal have not been disclosed.
The Ahmeds were each sentenced to serve a minimum of 25 years in jail.
