Creamfields fans want money back

ANGER is growing among fans wanting their money back following the disastrous Creamfields festival at Daresbury, near Warrington at the weekend.
On Tuesday, festival organisers issued a statement indicating that details of how to get refunds would be available within 24 hours.
But last night, the information had still not been made available.
A statement on the Creamfields website said: “We apologise that we’ve not been able to release any further information on this as yet. We are pulling all the information together as fast as we can but its taking a little longer than anticipated – there are several parties involved in this process and we need ensure we have all the details needed. Rest assured this is a top priority for us and we will come back to you as soon as possible.”
Torrential overnight rain caused chaos on the site – and led to the festival being abandoned on Sunday morning.
But as organisers tried to prevent more fans arriving on the Sunday morning and, at the same time, attempted to clear the way for those already on site to leave, confusion reigned. Camping areas were inundated, cars were bogged down in mud and water and revellers were drenched.
Many fans complained about a lack of information, with no announcements made.
Unofficial information available via social networking sites led to more confusion.
One fan – who was attending his second Daresbury Creamfields – said: “It is clear the site is unsuitable for an event like this if there is heavy rain.
“I shall not be attending again unless they find a better location. It was bad enough last year, but this time it was ridiculous.
“Even Glastonbury at its worst was never as bad as this.”
Cheshire Police pointed out that the cancelling of the Sunday performances enabled people to leave the site safely.
Chief Inspector Bev Raistrick said: “The safety of those who had to remain on site was paramount, with police and organisers working closely to ensure the final night passed off without incident and their departure was done safely despite the boggy conditions.
“We would like to thank everyone for their patience and co-operation.”
