Specialist bikes stolen from charity

THIEVES have stolen two specialist bicycles from a charity in Warrington.
The distinctive bikes were stolen from the MacIntyre Charity, which is based in Victoria Park.
Police say the thefts took place sometime between Wednesday January 25 and 10am the following morning.
The offenders climbed over a perimeter fence, broken into an out building and stolen the bikes.
One of the bikes was later found abandoned and returned to the centre but the other, (pictured), is still missing.
Sergeant Elaine Duddle said: “We would appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or who knows who could be responsible to get in touch.
“Incidents such as this can cause considerable upset to the victims and are not acceptable.
“This is a vital piece of equipment, which is used by the local community.
“These bikes are valuable and this equipment is essential to enhancing the lives of those who benefit from the work of the charity.
“The stolen bike is distinctive and we would like to hear from anyone who might have seen the bicycle or has any information as to its whereabouts.”
Sergeant Duddle added: “One of the bicycles that was stolen has been returned to the centre and we would also appeal for the person who returned it to come forward.”
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101.
Information can also be passed on anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
MacIntyre provides learning, support and care for more than 900 children and adults with learning disabilities across the UK.

  1. Don’t really get why you say that as Victoria Park is a public place and used by many people (both day and night) and it does say the offenders “climbed over a perimeter fence amd broken into an out building “………… Anyway that aside I do hope they find the other bike soon as it’s usetting to read that some low life idiot(s) think they have the right to steal anything let alone special bikes from a charity organisation. Shame on whoever did this and I hope they grow some balls (or the female equivalent so as not to appear sexist) and return the other bike immediately !! If they don’t have the guts to actually won up or return it maybe they could just leave it somewhere OBVIOUS where it can be retrieved !
