Green Belt objection to extension

PLANNING bosses at Warrington are being asked to refuse plans for single-storey extensions and a front porch extension at an isolated house close to the Mersey at Cuerdley.
Station House, in Station Road, Penketh was originally part of the old Fiddler’s Ferry railway station. It has only two near neighbours – Railway Cottage and the Ferry Inn.
The rear and side extensions would have no harmful impact on either of the other properties – but planners say, taking into account a previous two storey extension, they would result in a 125 per cent increase in floor area.
This would amount to inappropriate development in the Green Belt. – resulting in a disproportionate increase in living accommodation in the Green Belt.
No objections have been received to the scheme and Cllr David Keane says members of the planning committee should visit the site.
