Attacker bites off man's ear

POLICE at Warrington are appealing for witnesses after a man had part of his ear bitten off during a street fight.
The 53-year-old victim was walking with his wife along Battersby Lane in the direction of Marsh House Lane at 11.30pm on Saturday (June 25).
The pair were having a minor disagreement when a stranger attempted to intervene.
The man confronted the husband and an argument ensued, which resulted in the husband being assaulted and having the top part of his left ear bitten off.
The offender fled the scene in the direction of Forshaw Avenue and was pursued by other members of the public.
The victim sustained the injury to his ear and also received cuts to his right elbow. He attended Warrington Hospital and will require further treatment at Whiston Hospital.
The offender 25-30-years-old, 5ft 7 inches to 5ft 8 inches tall, of slim build, with very short mousey brown hair.
He smelt of tobacco and had tobacco stained teeth with a 3mm gap between his two front teeth. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and dark trainers.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, which could assist with their enquiries.
