Vandals set charity bonfire alight

FIRE crews from Warrington fought for several hours to extinguish a large charity bonfire which was set alight prematurely by vandals.
The blaze was on land off Hough Lane, Walton and was threatening nearby trees, bushes and fencing.
Now the organisers will face the task of rebuilding the bonfire before November 5.

  1. Grrrrrrrr…. considering all the signs and the fact that it is held every year at Beech Tree Farm (thanks to the kindness of the gent who owns it) ……EVERYONE knows this is a CHARITY bonfire celebration to raise funds for places like St Roccos. I hope the idiots who found it amusing to set fire to it are caught and delt with. Maybe they could be placed on the top of the next one 🙁

  2. If the bonfire was “threatening nearby trees, bushes and fencing”…… wasn’t it built in the wrong place regardless of who lit it? As for what to do with the culprits….. Birch would be a good start imo.
