A SURVEY shows that increasing numbers of Warrington people are using environmentally friendly ways of getting to work.
Results from a survey of local workers show that more people are opting to car-share in a bid to lessen their impact on the environment.
The survey conducted by Lingley Mere Business Park, Warrington, shows thew numbers of people in its local “Travel Share” scheme have increased by 60 per cent since March. And numbers of registered journeys in the scheme has jumped by nearly 50 per cent during the same period.
Phil Mayall, senior development surveyor at Muse Developments – joint venture partner with United Utilities in the park – said: “It’s our goal to reduce single occupancy car use to, from and around Lingley Mere Business Park and promote sustainable travel as much as possible.
“These results are extremely encouraging and demonstrate the increasing trend of using sustainable travel methods in the Warrington region.”
A free cycle safety check event for all employees on the park was recently organised in a bid to encourage cycling. It was held over two half days and was well attended. The business park also provides a free shuttle bus to and from the Warrington Interchange and around Lingley Mere.

Tell your hubby to get a job closer to home – Warrington doesn't need the likes of Runcorn folk!
