TWO new leisure facilities are about to open their doors to the public in Warrington.
Today (Monday) the fitness suite will open at Woolston Neighbourhood hub, marking the completion of phase one of the development. The hub will be the first community facility of its kind in Warrington.
The Butterflies children’s centre and library are scheduled to open in September.
The hub is a key element of the Neighbourhoods in Warrington regeneration programme which aims to provide better public services for those living nearby.
Coun Liz Smith, the borough council’s executive member for neighbourhoods and communities said: “This centre stands to make a really important contribution to community life in Woolston. This is the first of many new facilities that will provide an exciting opportunity for efficient joint working and the sharing of resources with fellow service providers.”
Coun Bob Timmis, executive member for leisure and skills added: “I am delighted to see the first stage of the hub ready to open. Once complete it will make it even easier for residents to take advantage of an improved range of leisure, wellbeing and learning opportunities in first class facilities.”
Next week, leisure and community facilities at Culcheth High School Community Campus will open.
From August 16, the community can make full use of the fitness suite, music and drama studios, arts and entertainment venue, community rooms and Meadow View children’s centre.
Bookings can be taken from Monday August 9 on 01925 768500 or for more information visit www.leisurewarrington.co.uk
