20mph trial comes to an end

THE 20 mph speed limit study on a number of roads in Warrington has come to an end.
Information about traffic volume, speed, road collisions and public perception has been gathered throughout the study.
This will be given to members of the borough council’s executive board who will use it to decide on the future use of 20mph speed limits in the borough.
Coun Alan Litton, executive member for environment and transport, said: “The aim of this scheme is to determine which roads would benefit from a lower speed limit. I am confident that the outcome will be safer roads for pedestrians and drivers alike.”
All roads included in the 20mph pilot areas have gone back to 30mph until a decision about a permanent speed limit is made. The existing 20mph signs and posts will remain in place but will be covered.
Anyone with queries should contact road safety manager Mark Tune at 3rd Floor, New Town House, Warrington, WA1 2NH, telephone 01925 442695 or email [email protected]
