PEOPLE in Warrington will not be able to vote in any elections this year if their names are not on the register of electors.
Poll Cards are being delivered to every registered elector across Warrington for voting in the local elections on May 6. Cards are also being delivered to those who have a postal or proxy vote.
Council officers say although no announcement has yet been made it is possible that the General Election may be on the same day.
Once an election is announced there are very tight time limits on applications to go on to the register or obtain a postal vote. The closing date for both actions is April 20, but officers advise people to act early to allow sufficient time.
People who have not received a poll card by April 5 may not be registered. Registration forms can be obtained from the elections team or can be downloaded from the website at www.warrington.gov.uk
Anyone wanting to vote by post or nominate someone will need to complete an application form which must be returned by Tuesday April 20.
Further information is available from the elections enquiry team at Warrington Town Hall, Sankey Street, Warrington, on 442184 or by email questions to elections@warrington.gov.uk

It would be much more cost effective if Voting Cards were only sent to people who are going to use them.
How on earth would they know who to send them too !?!?
Ask for one!
